The control methods used for shock or free vibration are usually different from those for forced vibration, because shock vibration can be regarded as a type of transient vibration that is different from steady-state forced vibration. In reality, however, both steady-state and transient excitations may occur in transport vehicles, thus there is a need to control both types of vibration.
