This Vocabulary was prepared at the request of His Excellency Captain Grey, and forwarded in October 1845. At that time, the Europeans had been several years in contact with Natives speaking four dialects, and Vocabularies of three dialects had been prepared and published by the Missionaries of the Dresden Lutheran Missionary Society; and it was thought desirable, by His Excellency, to have the fourth placed on record -- PrefaceVocabulary and grammar of the Ngayawang language spoken by Murundi people living on the Murray River between Wellington (S.Aust.)and the Rufus River (N.S.W.
