(some col.), maps ; 30 cm.This study examines the medium sized sedimentary manganese deposit of Dounan, Yunnan Province of China, to determine the sedimentary environments controlling the distribution of ores and rocks, and to establish the relationships between ore mineralization and changes in the sedimentary environment. The thesis also aims to work out the sequence of events after the primary ore is formed, to determine which processes lead to secondary enrichment of the ore.Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Adelaide, Dept. of Geology and Geophysics, 199
