Article first published online: 10 MAR 2008ObjectiveTo report a case of a newborn female infant noted to have features of the megacystis-microcolon-intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome (MMIHS) with the additional features of hydrometrocolpos and segmental colonic dilatation and review the literature.MethodologyThe details of the case were collated and compared with the previous published experience with this condition.ResultsThus far there have been 58 previous cases of MMIHS described, only four of which have had colonic dilatation.
