This documents was prepared for the Inter-American Development Bank Regional Policy Dialogue. It analyzes the Caribbean sub-region integrated by The Bahamas, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. This profile provides an overview of environmental management priorities, achievements, and challenges in the Caribbean. It also provides some recommendations for sub-regional initiatives that could be pursued through the Dialogue. Throughout this paper, environmental management issues are divided into three categories: natural resources management, urban environmental management, and environment and competitiveness.
