Analysis of Lead (Pb) Concentration in the Dustfall in Residential and Roadside Area (Srondol Bumi Indah Residential and Jalan Setiabudi Semarang)

The increase of development, population and energy consumption were some of the factors cause the increasing of air pollution. Dust (particulates) was one of the most dangerous pollutant in ambient air. Therefore, the aim of this research were to determine the amount of dustfall and lead concentration in the dustfall located in Srondol Bumi Indah resident and Jalan Setiabudi Semarang from April 2014 to Juni 2014. The dustfall samples were collected each month using dustfall collector based on SNI 13-4703-1998 from four sampling points. The amount of dustfall were analyzed using gravimetric analysis method while the concentration of lead (Pb) were analyzed using an Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES). Results showed that the average of dustfall ini Srondol Bumi Indah residential area (195,72 ± 44,52 gr/m2/month) and Jalan Setiabudi (348,92 ± 57,9 gr/m2/month ) has exceed the value of 10 tons/km2/month as recommended by Goverment as written in PP no. 41 tahun 1999. Meanwhile the average of lead concentration in was Srondol Bumi Indah residential area was 4,76 ± 0,61 µg/L and lead concentration in Jalan Setiabudi was 6,04 ± 2,22 µg/L.
