- Gendola (Basella rubra Linn) and Binahong (Anredera cardifolia) are medicinal plant. Gendola and Binahong leaves widely used as traditional medicine for Indonesian people.The objectives of this research were to examine the antioxidant activity and the total phenols content of Gendola leaf and Binahong leaf ethanolic extract. The antioxidant activity was measured by UV-Vis Spectrophotometer at 517 nm using 1-difenil-2pikril hidrazil hydrat (DPPH) as free radical. The total phenols content were measured by spectrophotometer at 360 nm. The result showed that IC50 value of ethanolic extract of Gendola leaf 84,70 ppm, and Binahong leaf 180,16 ppm.
