Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Mandiri Terhadap Kemandirian Belajar Dan Prestasi Belajar IPA Siswa Kelas VIII SMP N 3 Singaraja

This research aims to investigate the effect of self directed learning model on learning independency and achievement in natural science. This is a quasi-experimental research using The Posttest-Only Control-Group design. The population of the research is the entire students of grade VIII SMP N Singaraja academic year of 2012/2013 with total population 307 students. 120 students were selected as research sample by using group random sampling technique. Data of learning independency were collected by using questionnaire and data of natural science achievement acquired by using multiple choice test. Data were analyzed by using MANOVA (multivariat Analysis of Variance) with the help of SPSS 17.00 for windows. The result shows that first, learning independency between students who followed a self directed learning method significantly better than those who followed conventional learning method (F = 36,028 and p < 0,05). Second, natural science achievement in students who followed self directed learning method significantly better than those who followed conventional learning method (F = 29,537 and p < 0,05). Third, simultaneously, learning independency and student's achievement between students who followed self directed learning significantly better than students who followed the conventional learning (F = 34,48 and p < 0,05)
