Analisis Potensi Lokasi Budidaya Rumput Laut Eucheuma Chottonii Menggunakan Citra Landsat 8 Di Perairan Laut Demak

Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world which there are 17,508 islands separated by the sea. Each island is bordered by the sea has beach. The coastline of all Indonesia islands reached 99 093 Km. The Indonesian's beach has much natural resources on the sea and the cultivation resources. One of the natural cultivation developed in Indonesia is seaweed.Site selection for seaweed cultivation sometimes got some problems that need more time, cost and energy. The technology such as remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) were a great solution for site selection of seaweed production development. Seaweed cultivation location can be predicted with Landsat 8 image which scaned on 1st October 2014 and 26th March 2015 for the parameters of sea surface temperature, dissolved oxygen, total suspended solids and salinity. The study areas in Demak coastal waters, Central Java. The method used for determinating sea surface temperature and dissolved oxygen are algorithms Ali El Battay, Indah Budi Lesatari's algorithm for determining total suspended solids (TSS), and Sam Wouthuyzen's algorithm for determinating of salinity.Based on data processing, the result of relatively sea surface temperature area is warm temperatures in the range 26 ° C - 32 ° C, the dominant dissolved oxygen content in the range of 3-8 mg / l, the dominant total suspended solids (TSS) range of 20-80 mg / l, and the dominant area content range of salinity 28-32 mg / l. The determination using matching methods produce conformity class covering 3829.20 ha and located 3 Km from the edge of the coastal waters of Demak.
