The purpose of this study was to (1) application of the mind mapping to improve the quality of the students’ learning process in narrative writing skills (constructing essay) on fourth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Trirenggo, Bantul, Yogyakarta, and (2) application of the mind mapping can improve the learning results of narrative writing skills (constructing essay) on fourth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Trirenggo, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in SD Negeri 1 Trirenggo, Bantul Yogyakarta with the fourth grade students as the subject, consist of 25 students; 11 students are girls and 14 are boys. The object of the research is to learn to write narratives that are included in the Bahasa Indonesia subject.
