IRAK SETELAH JATUHNYA REZIM SADDAM HUSSEIN TAHUN 2003-2005

The objectives of the research are to describe: (1) the background to the invasion of the United States of America to Iraq in 2003, (2) the policies of the United States of America targeted to Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime, and (3) the impacts of the United States of America’s invasion on the lives of Iraqi in the social, economic and political fields including the formation of temporary Iraqi government. The research used a historical method. Its data resources were primary and secondary written ones such as books, newspapers, magazines which were relevant to the study. The data of the research were gathered through library research by using catalogued system or computerized system with the internet utilization. The data were analyzed by using a historical technique of analysis, that is, an analysis which is primarily focused on the sharpness and alertness in interpreting historical data by employing theoretical framework approach derived from History science with the politic and sociological approaches. The research went through four phases of activities, namely: heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of the research are as follows: 1) The fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime cannot be separated from the United States of America’s invasion, which was backed up by various missions of the invasion, namely: (a) terminating Saddam Hussein’s regime which is regarded as a dictatorial government and creating a transition era so as to establish a representative for the Iraqi citizens; (b) identifying, isolating, and eliminating the mass weapons; (c) hunting for, capturing, and bringing terrorists out of the country. 2) States of America has issued several policies for the reconstruction of Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime, which are: (a) Temporary governmental bodies such as ORHA, CPA, Iraqi Interim Governing Council, and Iraqi Interim Government, all of which are fully under the control of the United States of America (b) Reconstruction policy of Iraqi in economic field, by giving job contracts through bidding, which is accessible only for enterprises from the countries that support the measures of invasion taken by the United State of America upon Iraq. 3) After the invasion, Iraq has undergone various changes in social, economic, and political fields due to the class between the United States of America and Iraq. There has been a dramatically social change that might sharpen and lead to civil war among the nation. The changed in economic which oil has became the principal issue. Therefore after the invation, United States of America has tried to include its private oil companies in the oil infrastructure reconstruction in Iraq. In political field, the invasion by the United States of America, mainly aiming at erecting the democracy in Iraq, has successfully overthrown Saddam Hussein’s regime, which is regarded as an authoritarian government.By held general election altought the result was unhappy for Iraqi. So that the Iraqi people regard the newly formed government as a shadow government and doubt its capability. This caused political instability, so the autority will also fail to control the conflicts
