The Effect of Tempe Extraxt on Damage Liver Cells in White Rat with Paracetamol-induce

Antioxidant components in fermented soy foods eliminate excess reactive oxygen species (ROS). Paracetamol is the most commonly used NSAID by society which, if used in excessive doses or used for long periods of time can cause liver necrosis. Case. Using 25 male white rats of Wistar strain which were treated for 42 days and were divided into 5 groups. The fifth group was treated as follows: Group 1 was treated group without soybean extract and paracetamol (animal control). Group 2, group without soybean extract, given only paracetamol 3 x 0.75 ml / day for 6 weeks. Group 3, group fed soybean extract as much as 0.27 ml / day, 1x a day and were given paracetamol 3 x 0.75 ml / day for 6 weeks. Treatment group 4, group fed soy bean extract as much as 0.54 ml / day, 1x a day and were given paracetamol 3 x 0.75 ml / day for 6 weeks. Treatment group 5, group fed soybean extract as much as 1.08 ml / day, 1x a day and were given paracetamol3 x 0.75 ml / day for 6 weeks. After treatment is completed, (day 43) we prepared histopathological heart cells examination by calculating the percentage of liver cell damage. Conclusion. The results showed that there were significant differences between groups which was induced with paracetamol alone and group which was induced by paracetamol and given tempe extracts. Giving soybean extract can prevent liver damage of rat induced by paracetamol, and the effective dose to prevent liver cells damage to rat was 0,54 ml
