PEMBELAJARAN FISIKA MELALUI METODE DISCOVERY-INQUIRY DENGAN SISTEM TERBIMBING DAN BEBAS YANG DIMODIFIKASI DITINJAU DARI MINAT BELAJAR FISIKA SISWA PADA POKOK BAHASAN KALOR DI SMP

The research aims are to know: (1) the difference effect between using guided ang modified discovery-inquiry method to students’ cognitive ability at physics learning; (2) the difference effect of interest in learning between high and low categories students’cognitive ability at physics learning; (3) The interaction of effect between using discovery-inquiry method and students’ interest in learning to students’ cognitive .ability at physics lerning. This research use experimental method with 2 x 2 factorial design. The population in this research are entire students of VII class in SMP N 16 Surakarta. The sample is taken with cluster random sampling technique and obtained two classes as a research sample, each classes consist of 35 students. Data collecting use documentation, questionnaire, and test. Data analysis use anava test with different content of cell, furthermore use double comparison of Scheffe method with level of significance 0,05. The result of research shows: (1) there is no a significant difference influence between using guided and modified discovery-inquiry method to students’ cognitive ability at kalor fundamental concept. The student that is given learning with guided discovery-inquiry method obtain same cognitive ability with the student that is given learning with modified discovery-inquiry method; (2) there is a difference effect of interest in learning between high and low categories students’cognitive ability at kalor fundamental concept. The student that is having a interest in learning with high category having cognitive ability better than student that having a interest in learning with low category ; (3) there is no interaction between using discovery-inquiry method and students’ interest in learning toward student’s cognitive ability in Physics. So between using discovery-inquiry method as study method and students’ interest in learning levelgive the each influences to student’s cognitive ability at kalor fundamental concept.
