TINGKAT DEPRESI PADA LANSIA DITINJAU DARI TIPE KEPRIBADIAN DAN DUKUNGAN SOSIAL (Studi Kasus di UPT Panti Werdha Mojopahit Mojokerto Dan Jombang)

The prevalence of depression is a disorder incident psychological top of the elderly. Depression is caused by many factors from outside or from within. Type personality and social support can affect levels of depression in the elderly. Introverted personality type and less social support lead to value severe levels of depression. This research aims to determine differences the influence of personality types and social support on the level of depression in elderly in UPT Panti Werdha Mojopahit Mojokerto. This research of cross sectional studies, in Panti Werdha Mojopahit Mojokerto with a sample of 30 elderly, simple random sampling technique dependent sampling. Variable levels of depression in the elderly, the independent variable type personality and social support. Data collected with using questionnaires and analyzed with the Kruskal - Wallis and friedman test. Based results found no differences influence the types of introvert and extrovert personalities on the level depression in the elderly ( = 0.000), there are differences influence less social support and well on the level of depression in the elderly ( = 0.001), no interaction effect of type personality and social support to levels of depression ( = 0.000). So introverted personality type with social support less cause depression levels of high value severe depression. Expected the family and the nursing staff understand the type of personality the elderly and provide support social care of the elderly as possible to reduce levels of depression in the elderly.
