The Italian Public Administration both at local, regional and national level, according to its mission and objectives, is "de facto" an author. In spite of the fact that the editorial production of the public body is very large and of the highest quality, it's rarely registered and taken into the right consideration. The article presents some relevant experiences in cataloguing and develops final reflections about this topic
