The topic of this article is the language called bámánánkán whose speakers are named bámánán. It is well known by the name bambara. Bamanankan is the most important language of the Republic of Mali. It belongs to Manding, a group of Mande languages which in turn belongs to the Niger-Congo family. The aim of this article is to furnish more information about the vocalic regressive assimilation, which is the most frequent phonological phenomenon in Bamanankan. In this contribution is also described the behaviour of the adjectives, postpositions, adverbs, the plural morpheme and the distributive morpheme in front of the vocalic regressive assimilation, as well as substantives which assume the function of postpositions and adverbs.
