This thesis concerns with a study about the five typical characters of Tennessee Williams: "The Artist", "The Insane", "The Cripple", "The Sexually Driven", and "The Foreigner". In his two plays The Glass Menagerie and Sweet Bird of Youth, some of the characters have the characteristics of Tennesee Williams typical characters. For this reason, the thesis writer is interested to analyze all of the characters that have qualifications of "The Artist", "The Insane", "The Cripple", "The Sexually Driven", and "The Foreinger". Therefore, this thesis intends to prove that the characters in both plays have those typical characters of Tennessee Williams.
