No longer at Ease is basically a study of the ambiguities of Nigeria in the post colonial period where the old ways have changed, the traditional values have been turned upside down, but the full consequences of the coming of Europeans is not yet known. Chinua Achebe's No Longer at Ease pictured the main male character, Obi, a representative figure of the young and educated Nigerian at this point of time, that is pulled between the traditional and modern values in Nigeria.
