Comparison of therapeutic effects of intralesional bleomicin and cryotherapy on common warts.

Background & Objective: warts are the most common clinical presentation of human papilloma virus on human skin and mocusa. They are finding more common on Hand, foot, face and genital area. Thay are Benign skin colour tumors with different clinical forms. There is'nt any specific treatment for them, and there are different methods of treatment such as topical salicylic Acid, cryotherapy , laser , electerocutery, …. This trial compare the therapeutic effects of intralesional bleomicin and cryotherapy on common warts of hands and feet. Materials and Methods: Fifty two subjects were Enterned in study. But only 44 continued the course of treatment . warts were treated by intralesional injection of bleomicin 0.5 mg/ml and liquid nitrogen in symethric aspects of both hands and feet. We used cryo-spray gun for application of liquid nitrogen. Treatment Repeated every 2 weeks for maximum three times. Treatment was done by a Dermatologist and eavaluation of treatment response by an other Dermatologist. collected Data were Analyzed by spss. Results: in this trial 23 femal and 21 male were studied. Their mean age in female and male were 17.4±3.8 and 23.2±8.1, respectively (p<0.0001). 253 warts treated by cryotherapy and 226 warts by intralesional bleomicin. Cure rate was 72.3% for cyrotherapy and 87.6% for intralesional bleomicin. Efficacy of the treatment in intralesional bleomicin was significantly higher than cryotherapy (P
