Complex permittivity spectra of methanol-tetrachloromethane mixts. at 225°C are presented, covering the frequency range 0.95 ≤ ν/GHz ≤ 89. The mole fraction x2 of CCl4 is varied in the range of 0 ≤ x2 ≤ 0.59. A dielec. relaxation model for methanol with superposition of 3 Debye equations must be used to fit the data for all studied mixts. Concn. dependence of the relaxation times and dispersion amplitudes reveal hydrogen bonding between the methanol mols. as the dominating type of interaction. A model is proposed for the calcn. of the fraction of alc. monomer and chain-end mols. and the results from high frequency permittivity measurements are compared with information from other methods.
