These paintings are part of the exhibition titled The Wonder and Loss of Familiar Places. This exhibition is the product of a cultural exchange between artists Xu Ze (Chengdu, China) and Tim Croucher (Hamilton, Aotearoa). Though separated by language, distance, and life experiences, each artist has absorbed a part of the other’s culture through an experience of his painting. This exhibition is a physical manifestation of this absorption and dialogue
