Advanced interacting online

Suitable for those staff members who regard themselves as relatively competent users of Moodle, this workshop’s content will include the use of a number of tools designed to increase student engagement and interaction within Moodle, and will involve a more advanced treatment of some aspects covered in the core workshop, Interacting Online, together with an introduction to an extended array of interactive tools in the online context. It is common for teachers new to online teaching to use Moodle simply as a place to store resources, such as module outlines, assessment details, and lecture notes. As teachers become more familiar with Moodle, increased confidence leads to the use of more interactive activities, like the discussion fora and chat sessions, links to useful websites, video and audio clips, and short quizzes. This workshop will introduce participants to a number of Moodle activities that may not currently be in common use at Wintec, but which can be used to increase and enhance interactivity in your teaching and in your students' learning
