Three cell-based assays suitable for image-based high content screening and covering the fields of microtubule dynamics, phage display and receptor signaling were addressed within this PhD thesis.To establish an assay investigating microtubule dynamics, recombinant cells expressing SNAP-tubulin were stained with cell permeable, SNAP-reactive dyes to label the microtubule network. The new assay enabled the detection of changes in microtubule dynamics as shown by exposure to (de)stabilizing microtubule targeting agents, which resulted in either dissolved microtubule networks or bright and coarsely-structured microtubules.
