The annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, as well as the conflicts in Georgia and Cyprus, pose questions such as to what extent states can and should guarantee long-term investment protection in the contemporary dynamics of the international legal order. This article does not analyse the broader problems concerning territorial and diplomacy issues; rather, it centres on problems regarding economic interests and property rights protection.
