In the current work, the effects of treating the oil palm fibres on the tribological performance of polyester composite were studied against polished stainless steel counterface using Block-on-Ring (BOR) technique under dry contact condition. Wear and friction characteristics of treated and untreated oil palm fibre reinforced polyester (T-OPRP and UT-OPRP) composites were evaluated at different sliding distances (0.85–5 km), sliding velocities (1.7–3.9 m/s) and applied loads (30–100 N). SEM observations were performed on the worn surfaces of the composites to examine the damage features. Specific wear rate (Ws), friction coefficient and interface temperature results were presented against the operating parameters. The results revea...
