The role of Information Systems within organizations is constantly changing. Undergraduates concentrating in Information Systems need to acquire the knowledge and skills to compete in this dynamic arena. The undergraduate curriculum must not only address technical knowledge, but also communications and collaborative skills necessary for participation in the work environment. In order to provide an opportunity for students to combine these competencies, peer learning techniques were combined with the standard methods of teaching computer programming skills in an introductory programming course.
