The eNS is an unusual site of ectopic infection in schistosomiasis. Cerebral lesions are caused primarily by Schistosoma japonicum, and spinal cord lesions are due primarily to Schistosoma mansoni and Schistosoma haematobium. S. haematobium is an unusual cause of cerebral mass lesions although schistosomal eggs can be frequently found in the brains of individuals in coun-tries where S. haematobium is endemic. We describe a patient with a space-occupying cerebral lesion and schistosomal granulomas on pathological examination. S. haematobium was identi-fied in urine and serologically.
