Intraosseous infusion is a technique for the admin-istration of fluids to a child who is in a state of hemo-dynamic collapse and in whom attempts to access the vascular system by conventional means have not been successful. This method is used most efficiently in chil-dren from three months to three years old because of the presence of highly vascular marrow and large ye-nous sinusoids in the long bones”.
