Another obvious adverse force is that the kind of training program that is necessary obviously conflicts with the established interests that dominate both university based psychology graduate programs and professional pro-grams in medicine. A possible way to circumvent some of these problems is to establish training in neuropsychology at the post-doctoral level — perhaps a two year program that could convert personnel trained in experimental or clinical psychology into fully trained neuropsychologists. Post-doc-toral programs in neuropsychology have been in existence for several years, but they are few in number and contribute only a very few individuals to the field each year. The force behind training programs in neuropsychology represents an expanding market that should no longer be ignored
