All books have strengths and weaknesses, and what those strengths and weaknesses are may depend to some extent upon the reader. That is a necessary dis-claimer for any review of any book with the words “molecular evolution ” on the title page. The book seems to target the systematics community, but molecular evo-lution is actually a much broader field. In fact, molecu-lar evolution is one of the few fields where books with that title can have largely nonoverlapping content.
