In the past researches, the redox chemistry of cobalt porphyrins have studied extensively. Scientists assumed that the redox reaction of cobalt porphyrins occur at the central metal or porphyrin rings, and the substituent effect also influences the redox properties of metalloporphyrins. We have recently synthesized a series of cobalt porphyrins with different substituents. By using electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical method, the oxidation site occurred at metal oxidation or porphyrin ring could be monitored
