We read the article of S. Böcher et al. (1) with interest. In this study, based on laboratory and retrospective clinical data, the authors report 491 skin infections, including 179 abscesses, and conclude that Staphylococcus lugdunensis is commonly in-volved in skin and soft tissue infections in the community. We recently had the opportunity to treat an S. lugdunensis skin infection located in the groin. At the first clinical assess-ment, the lesion was an erythematous painful mass and was considered a skin abscess.
