The purpose of this study, concerned with the graphics arts industry, were to identify: (1) skills and technical knowledges needed by employees, (2) processes and types of equipment in use, (3) sources of labor, and (4) opinions of employers concerning personnel training. Data were obtained describing the industry in the Carolinas and Georgia by a postcard survey for general information and a long form for technical information. Fifty-nine company representatives were interviewed for opinions and desires in terms of manpower training.
