The occurrence of gastric ulcers in swine is now widely recognized in the swine raising areas of the United States and Europe. Recent investigations have demonstrated certain nutritional factors to be of importance for the ulcerogenesis. PERRY et al.6 produced ulcers using heat-treated corn in swine rations. NUWER et al.4 supplemented diets containing heat-treated corn with nutrients which might have been destroyed during preparation. None of the additives, which included amino acids and several vitamins, had a protective effect.
