PULMONARY alveolar proteinosis, a chronic disease of the lungs of un-known etiology, was recently described as a new entity by Rosen et al.1 Although the histologic findings are characteristic, the clinical course is variable. Inasmuch as this is apparently a new disease and, thus far, only Rosen's report has called attention to it, we are recording our experience with three cases
