Syntheses and Biological Activities of 3-Fluoropropionic Acid Derivatives and Related Compounds

3.Fluoropropionates, 3.fluoropropyl ethers, fluorinated homomevalonolactone and related compounds were synthesized, and bioassayed on the silkworm, Bombyx mori, and the housefly, Muscu domestica. A number of 3.fluoropropionates showed moderate acute toxicity against both B. mori and M. domestica, and 3-fluoropropyl ethers at high doses showed insecticidal activity against B. mori. No acute toxicity was found for fluorinated homomevalonolactone, but weak inhibition of pupation, None of the compounds produced clear anti-juvenile hormone activity on B. moth
