Eales disease, which is reported mainly in patients from the Indian subcontinent, is characterized by ophthalmic abnor-malities that are sometimes followed by neurologic sequelae, and it is associated with previous Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. We describe the first patient, to our knowledge, to receive a diagnosis of active tuberculosis and concurrent, severe neurological Eales disease, including peripheral neu-ropathy. The patient recovered completely after receiving steroid therapy. Eales disease is characterized by retinal periphlebitis, peripheral neovascularization, and vitreous hemorrhage [1].
