A71-year-old woman presented with re-duced vision in her right eye. She alsoreported having a headache, scalp ten-derness and pain in her jaw when chewing. On funduscopy, multiple cotton-wool spots were observed in both eyes, more markedly in the right eye (Figure 1A). Her erythrocyte sedimen-tation rate was markedly elevated at 90 mm/h. Biopsy of the temporal artery confirmed giant cell arteritis. Despite high-dose intravenous treat-ment with steroids, her vision deteriorated in both eyes. The vision im proved subsequently in her left eye but re mained poor in the right eye. The systemic symptoms resolved, and her ery-throcyte sedimentation rate dropped to 25 mm/h. Over the next 2 months, the cotton-wool spots resolved completely (Figure 1B)
