This study examined some school variables and teachers ’ attitude to work for effective teaching. Descriptive survey design was used for the study. The respondents were 216 teachers which were randomly selected from 90 secondary schools. An Instrument, Teachers ’ Attitude to Teaching Inventory (TATI), comprising 30 items, was used to collect data. The TATI elicited information on different aspects of teaching including presentation, assessment and use of instructional materials. The study was guided by two hypotheses.
