Entomologists interested in the fauna of Michigan have long felt the need of a list of the dragonflies of the state. The first record of Michigan Odonata was published by Her-mann Hagen in 1875, in his " Synopsis of the Neuroptera of North America, " in which he records 19 species of dragon-flies from Detroit and Lansing. The first local list of this group for Michigan, enumerating 44 species from Corunna, Shia-wassee County, was published ' by D. S. Kellicott, in 1894.
