Abstract

The resemblance of aliphatic to aromatic amines in raising blood pressure has been repeatedly observed and reviewed (1-4). Recently, there has been a renewal of interest in those aliphatic amines which have not been studied before (5-7). Indeed, certain compounds are suitable for clinical use (8-9). Pharma-cological studies on other newer products have also been reported (10-11). The present investigation concerns a comparison of the pressor activity of thirty-nine aliphatic amines, prepared by Dr. E. Rohrmann and Mr. H. A. Shonle of our own laboratories. PROCEDURE AND RESULTS. As before (12-13), experiments were carried out in pithed dogs. The animals, 176 in number, weighed from 5.1 to 11.8 kg., averaging 7.5 kg. It was soon disclosed tha...
