Anyone who teaches a course in introductory statistics knows that there is no shortage of available textbooks to choose from. I teach such a course every semester and, within the last year alone, I have received unsolicited copies of at least eight new textbooks. Given the sheer number of available texts, it often is difficult to find the book best matched to one's instructional objectives and the ability level of students. Even after adopting a textbook, one seldom is completely satisfied with it, finding at least some omissions and weaknesses.
