However, from my point of view as a researcher in the field of e-Humanities, the most interesting aspect of Pizlo’s work is his application of this approach to machine vision. In 3D Shape, Pizlo describes how we perceive shapes and proposes how machines might be de-signed to see shapes as we do. His approach offers a theoretical treatment of how the perception of 3D shape is produced from a 2D retinal image.
