Theatre dance history in Brisbane is a topic with a paucity of published literature. This is a cause for concern as it suggests that the city has limited dance history worthy of documentation. The texts that do exist lack analysis and discourse, and can mostly be categorised as 'coffee table' book. Texts that deconstruct or question history and its authors, are conspicuously absent. To address the misconception of a lack of theatre dance history in Brisbane, this study therefore examines and analyses the history of theatre dance in Brisbane between 1926- 1960, using Her Majesty's Theatre as a case study. In adopting a historical post modern paradigm, this thesis finally constructs its own version of theatre dance history in Brisbane
