Physiol. 35(4): 497-500. 1973.-Oxygen kinetics were observed for eight male subjects who performed at three intensities of work (30, 60, 80 % vo2 nlax) on a bicycle ergometer at 223, 2,286, and 3,810 m simulated altitude. The data suggest that the time to steady-state Vo2 is related to the intensity of the work, being more delayed the greater the intensity. Vo:! steady state was reached in 6 and 20 min for work at 30 and 60y0 of aerobic capacity, respectively, independent of altitude.
