Wright (1973) has described a treatment program for en-copresis that was found to be highly effective in clinical use. In a later article (1975) he presented data on 14 carefully studied cases further demonstrating the effectiveness of the program. Following is a detailed description of the clinical procedure employed. The basic components of the program are as follows: 1. A careful physical and any necessary tests should be accomplished to rule out the possibility of an organic etiol-ogy to the problem.
