Abstract: 12 Virus-host interactions highlight key regulatory steps in the control of gene expression. 13 microRNAs (miRNAs) are small noncoding RNAs that regulate protein production via 14 base-pairing with messenger RNAs. Both DNA and RNA viruses have evolved 15 mechanisms to degrade, boost or hijack cellular miRNAs to benefit the viral life cycle. 16 This mini-review focuses on recent discoveries in virus-host miRNA interactions. 1
