Bismaleimides and Biscitraconimides with Bisallyl Groups

Abstract: Bismaleimides and biscitraconimides with bisallyl groups were synthesized by the condensa-tion reaction of 3(4)-maleimidobenzoic chloride or 3(4)-citraconimidobenzoic chloride with diallylbisphe-nol A. Diallylbisphenol A was prepared by the reaction of bisphenol A with allyl bromide followed by Claisen thermal rearrangement by heating at 180C. The structures were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy. The compounds were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry and thermal analysis.
