Pressures in a square planform silo during discharge

This paper presents data obtained @om a series of tests on a steel square planform funneljPow silo with concentric discharge. For the silo in a discharging condition, results are presented from wall pressure cells. K e y results for the loading cycle are given for comparison. An analysis shows the accuracy and reliability of the data obtained. The wall pressure measurements show the increase in wall pressure as a result of discharge conditions. Explanation of the phenomena and an indication of their design relevance is given. Key words: laboratory tests, full-scale tests, pressure measurement, silos
