RatImmunity in a Syngeneic In Vitro Findings Tumor of Evidence for Long-Lasting Lymphoma Model: Correlation With In Vivo Observations 1

ABSTRACT-Previous studies concerning the tumor-host rela-tionship in the (C58NT)D rat tumor system indicated that some T-lymphocyte responses against tumor antigens were only tran-siently detectable after tumor inoculation; however, more sensi-tive procedures for the detection of proliferative responses In the mixed lymphocyte-tumor interaction (ML TI) have been developed. Upon reexamination of the kinetics of this response, positive re-sponses were detected as long as 650 days after Inoculation. Cy-totoxic effector cells could be generated in MLTI with lympho-cytes from immune WF rats as long as 1 year after Inoculation, and evidence was provided which indicated that the persistence of the responses observed in vitro correlated well with the resis-tance of immune rats to rechallenge with (C58NT)D tumor cells in vivo.-J Natl Cancer Inst 62: 525-529, 1979.
